What You’ll Do
Travel across the Atlantic—figuratively speaking—with milliner Jean Foley during this BYOB flower fascinator class. Taking a cue from UK fashionistas, Jean teaches you how to construct a custom headpiece for the holidays with a range of velvets, seasonal baubles, and festive brooches. Afterward, crafters can snap pictures with Jean while wearing their handmade creation.
Make a Flower Fascinator For the Holidays
Jean Foley provides an extensive selection of velvets, festive brooches, and similarly seasonal materials for you to make an elegant fascinator to wear in your hair, on a lapel, or on a purse.
Personalize Your Flower
If you prefer, you can bring your own sentimental brooches, pins, or buttons to add a personal touch.
Tote along a favorite beverage to enjoy while handcrafting your fascinator.
Designer and Milliner
Jean Foley’s first experience with design was at the tender age of 6, when she sewed couture outfits for her Barbie doll. She continued designing clothes and accessories for friends throughout high school, and eventually earned a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. There, she studied under world-renown sculptor and textile artist Nick Cave, widening her palate with forays into experimental fashion. But it was a trip to Ireland two years ago that spurred Jean to become a milliner. She fell in love with the stylish fascinators worn at an Irish wedding, and she’s been creating and selling wildly colorful and flamboyant hats and accessories ever since.
