What You’ll Do
Traditional Chinese dumplings are intricate works of art that might be too pretty to eat—if only they weren’t so delicious. During a hands-on workshop led by Yum Dum Truck owner Chef Jeff Wang, you’ll learn to fold your own doughy dumpling wrappers around minced meats and veggies. The workshop culminates in a family-style meal during which all participants devour the fruits of their labor. And don’t worry if yours aren’t the most aesthetically pleasing—as chef Wang says, whether the dumplings are “ugly or pretty, they will all be delicious!”

Learn to Make Dumplings
Chef Wang demonstrates different folding techniques before taking you step-by-step through the process of hand-making your own dumplings. All materials and ingredients are provided.
Don’t shy away from using a bit of liquid courage to bring out the artistry in your dumpling designs.
Chief Dumpling Engineer
As the son of restaurateurs, Chef Jeff Wang spent a lot of his childhood in the kitchen. Even so, he didn’t have firm culinary aspirations until he visited China and Taiwan as an adult, discovering a passion for dumplings in the process. Soon thereafter he opened his own food truck—Yum Dum Truck—where the dumpling-centric menu draws equally from inherited family wisdom and his experiences abroad.
