The Deal

Joe Piscopo & Friends

Joe Piscopo is no stranger to the limelight. Perhaps best known for his Frank Sinatra impersonation during his Saturday Night Live tenure, the comedian and actor has also starred in films such as Wise Guys and Johnny Dangerously as well as in his own HBO comedy special. But this evening, Joe gathers friends together for a cause greater than comedy. Along with Jeff Norris, Vanessa Hollingshead, Big Joe Henry, ventriloquist John Pizzi, and a cappella musical guests The Belle Tones, Joe takes the stage to raise funds for Troopers Assisting Troops. This non-profit organization of New Jersey State Troopers and friends supports and empowers returning soldiers wounded in battle through financial and emotional assistance.

State Theatre

The State Theatre was saved, as its website states, from "the ravages of time." Built in 1921 as a vaudeville and silent-film palace, the venue fell on hard times in the 1970s. In 2003, however, a $3 million renovation restored the State Theatre to much of its original glory, as crews painstakingly rehabbed the ornamental plaster, terracotta exterior, and actor holding cells. Inside the theater, a stunning chandelier sparkles more brightly than ever below the venue's signature dome.
