You are invited to the nuptials of Joey Gnocchi and Maria Cavatelli, and the dress code is formal wraparound sunglasses. Pastor Fazool presides over the ceremony, and the bride’s cousin Carmine Cannoli doesn’t just own the restaurant where this takes place, he also serves a traditional Italian dinner during the toast. Throughout the whole proceedings, audiences are seamlessly integrated into the show, whether that means flirting with Joey’s ex-girlfriend Viola Vermicelli, being accused of stealing from Maria’s mafioso godfather, or being cast as Maria’s mafioso godfather.
