What You'll Get
Nothing can match the thrill of seeing a concert in person, not even watching it on high-definition Blu-ray or listening to it on a high-definition parrot. Get out of your cage with this deal to see “Kaleidoscope,” presented by Columbus State University’s Schwob School of Music, at RiverCenter for the Performing Arts on Saturday, April 14, at 7:30 p.m. For $10, you get one general-admission ticket (a $20 value).
More than 250 music students and faculty of the Columbus State University’s Schwob School of Music fill RiverCenter’s Bill Heard Theatre for the annual “Kaleidoscope” concert, bringing together an eclectic array of instruments and musical styles. The school’s large ensembles, soloists, and chamber groups take up positions throughout the theater before performing an unpredictable concert, including such styles as string orchestra, musical theater, and jazz. Steel drums reverberate, alto saxophones squeal, and zithers zither for a 70-minute exploration of the breadth of musical expression that sends ardent noise washing over the audience from all directions.
