What You’ll Do
Home is where the heart is, so the saying goes. If that’s true, then a home that’s cluttered or chaotic could be just as bad for your heart as a stressful job or a rotten commute—a reality that interior decorator Kandy Christensen wants to transform for the better. During her spring cleaning workshop, Kandy helps you let go of the ties that bind you to unneeded clutter before encouraging you to transform your space with tips and techniques that can make it a more peaceful, welcoming, organized home.
Why We Keep Clutter
Kandy will help you to explore why we hang on to things we don’t need, and the emotional connection to those items that can keep you from taking control of your space.
How (and Where) to Let Things Go
After discovering what keeps people from letting go, Kandy dives into the many ways we can rid ourselves of unnecessary things, arming each student with a hard copy of resources that detail where you can sell, donate, or relocate unwanted items.
Creating a Soothing Sanctuary
Kandy discusses how to use colors, textures, and scents to create a calming, peaceful environment that can positively affect your emotions.
There’s nothing cookie-cutter about Kandy Christensen’s approach to design. With influences as diverse as Chicago’s architecture, vintage cameras, the DIY movement, and her time spent traveling, the certified interior decorator works to make sure every space she styles is wholly unique. She also shares her artistic eye during classes on design and personal style, and partners with clients so they can confidently take the reins on their own decor transformations.
