What You’ll Do
One of the only ways to know your jewelry is truly one of a kind is to make it yourself. During the hands-on lesson, you’ll learn the basics of making beaded jewelry and practice using pliers to manipulate loops and crimp beads. With guidance from instructor Katie Netti, you’ll make a single- or multi-strand bracelet with materials of your choice, which can include a lobster or toggle clasp and a variety of stone, glass, wood, and metal beads.
Design Your Own Bracelet
Organize and plan out your bracelet using a flocked bead board.
Use the Tools of the Trade
Learn how to use pliers to create loops, jump rings, and crimp beads.
Choose Your Materials
Work with a variety of unique findings and a vast selection of beads made of jasper, wood, glass, and other materials.
Bring along wine or another beverage; Katie Netti supplies everything else.
Owner of UrbanOil Ceramics, Art Teacher
Through her own inventiveness and determination, Katie Netti found a way to combine two of her passions—making art and helping others unlock their own creative potential. When she isn’t sharing her knowledge as a high school art teacher, she stays busy with gallery showings each year. It’s not only her artwork that’s earned accolades: School Arts magazine featured one of her lesson plans in a 2006 issue.
