Kings & Queens of Hip Hop

  • DMX: Ya’ll made him lose his mind in the 1999 hit “Party Up (Up In Here);” since then, his subwoofer-shaking growl has been heard in “No Sunshine” from the movie Exit Wounds, spitting “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer” live on New York City’s Power 105, and delivering lines alongside Jet Li in Cradle 2 the Grave.

  • Juvenile: This New Orleans–based rapper became a household name when his 1999 single, “Back That Thang Up,” took over the charts. Since then he’s maintained a solid presence on the scene with singles “Slow Motion,” “Animal,” and “Rodeo,” and collaborations with Lil Wayne, Soulja Slim, and Drake.

  • Trina: Crowned “the most consistent female rapper of all time” by XXL Magazine, this hip-hop star and model has also landed on Billboard’s “31 Female Rappers Who Changed Hip-Hop” list.

  • Bone Thugs-N-Harmony: The quintet introduced many listeners to their self-described “flip flop flow” with ’90s hits including “East 1999” and “Tha Crossroads”—their Grammy-winning single about death that salutes hip-hop icon Eazy-E. The song is especially poignant since he’s the one who signed them to Ruthless Records.

  • Also appearing: Scarface | JT Money | Mike Jones | Khia | T-Rone | Young Cash
