Kiss Kiss Cabaret
Kiss Kiss Cabaret fills its Friday-night variety show with so much comedy and burlesque that patrons of the the Chicago Reader named it 2013's Best Burlesque Troupe. Max Flattery, one of the Fabulous Flattery Brothers, emcees the evening’s events, which range from sleight-of-hand magic to sing-alongs to sultry song-and-dance numbers. Of course, the top-billed stars are the Kiss Kiss Coquettes, a troupe of dancing damsels who wear progressively fewer frills, tassels, and fishnet stockings. Among them is Bella Canto, whose name betrays her operatic training, and Deja Sue, who's been seen performing with Rockabilly Road Rockets. Enticing eyes with a different sort of magic is The Amazing Tomás, who fans out decks of cards and performs tricks with cigarettes, balloons, and light bulbs, and Brad French, who uses juggling stunts to surprise crowds without giving them a pop quiz. Acrobatic duo David & Hannah and their high-flying stunts round out the roster.
