What You’ll Do
Mindfulness isn’t just for meditation—it’s a technique that can help people be more authentic in their everyday interactions. During the 75-minute weekly Mindfulness Happy Hours, mindfulness meditation instructor Klia Bassing shows how mindfulness can revolutionize interpersonal relationships, bringing us both inner awareness and a sense of connectedness with others.
The event begins and ends with a 10- to 15-minute guided meditation session to establish and strengthen mindfulness.
Group Mindfulness Games
Between the meditations, participants play large- and small-group mindfulness games designed to strengthen self-awareness and compassion toward one another.
Between games, participants have time to reflect on and share their individual experiences, deepening the sense of aliveness and connection.
Mindfulness Meditation Instructor
Klia Bassing’s mind was crowded with obsessive thoughts of food and body-image—then a friend suggested she try meditation. Bassing herself admits it wasn’t a cure-all, but it did set her on a journey that led her to a place of heightened self-awareness and compassion. Now she introduces others to the process that improved her life, visiting workplaces such as The World Bank and Department of Justice to teach mindful meditation in the office—a service that’s earned the notice of the Washington Post and Science Daily.
