In its inaugural year, Summer Fest takes over the Bob Hope Theater for a full evening of dynamic hip-hop and R & B. Headlining California duo New Boyz filter their rapped verses through the sprightly keyboards of jerkin’ street dancing. Decked out in fluorescent hues and skinny jeans, they bring their sunny swagger to the stage with songs such as “Tie Me Down” and “Back Seat.” Sharing the bill is Baby Bash, MySpace’s No. 1 Latin Artist. The rapper and singer has teamed up with renowned hitmakers Akon, T-Pain, and Sean Kingston to create energetic tunes in the form of “Shorty Doowop” and “Cyclone,” a song about a destructive romance with a tasmanian devil.

Melodious crooner Amanda Perez lends her pipes to her chart-topping singles “I Pray” and “Angel” during her stint on the stage. Getting the crowd on their collective feet is DJ Skee, a record spinner renowned for conducting a live band to accompany his genre-mixing mash-ups. His hypnotic beats defy categorization and have awarded him the opportunity to collaborate with the likes of Snoop Dogg, Chris Cornell, and Michael Jackson.
