An Evening of Laughter & Memories of Sinatra featuring Tom Dreesen
Warning: contains a minor instance of profanity and major alimony
“A good comedian can make you laugh for an hour and a half. A great comedian can make you laugh and cry in that same hour and a half. Be prepared to do just that,” says Rick Kogan of Chicago Tribune about the force that is Tom Dreesen. He’s the kind of comedian they don’t make anymore: sharp, salty, suave, and gutsy. Along with longtime comedy partner Tim Reid (later of WKRP in Cincinnati fame), the comedy team of Tim & Tom was the first biracial standup duo ever in the US. From there, Tom became a favorite of Johnny Carson and a Tonight Show regular before his comic chops caught the attention of Frank Sinatra, who gave Tom the gig of a lifetime as his opening act. Since then, Tom’s made over 500 television appearances, which include not only stand-up spots on _Letterman _, but a few hosting stints there, too, when David was away.
