What You'll Do
Laura Roulet, a collector and curator of contemporary art, guides you to five or six of the top galleries in D.C.'s busting 14th Street–U Street NW corridor, where you'll connect with the art community and meet with gallery directors to learn about all of the pieces on display. Laura will also help you on your way to becoming an art scene insider by teaching you how to form a collection, get invited to openings, and evaluate galleries. At the last destination, groups will peruse the final collection over a glass of wine.

Art runs in Laura Roulet's blood, with both of her parents working as art collectors and helping her develop a deep appreciation for the art community at a young age. In her adult life, she's worked as an art historian and independent curator in D.C. for more than a decade, and lent her expertise to museums and galleries, including the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Art Museum of the Americas, and D.C. Art Center. Her essays and articles have graced the pages of Sculpture, Art Nexus, and American Art, and she's also written a book on contemporary Puerto Rican installation art.
