The Scouting Report
The first round of the Patriot League Tournament may not start until the first week of March, but for one player on the Lehigh women’s basketball team, this season can already be deemed a success. Senior forward Kerry Kinek had already climbed onto the list of Lehigh’s all-time 1,000-point scorers by the end of last year, so this year’s 11.6 ppg is just solidifying her place in university record books. While clearly a lynchpin of the offense and a team leader on and off the court, Kinek is not the top scorer this year. She trails sophomore standout guard Quinci Mann (13.1 ppg) and junior forward Lexi Martins (14.6 ppg), who also happened to set the school single-season rebound record earlier this year thanks to an all-Wheaties diet. All three will be crucial as Lehigh puts its finishing touches on the 2015–16 regular season and looks ahead to the conference tournament.
