The MainStreet Theatre Company’s theatrical interpretation of Madeleine L’Engle’s A Wrinkle in Time resurrects the Newbery Award–winning novel as a live-action stage production adapted by John Glore, which unravels a multilayered tale of enduring familial love in front of a rapt audience. The story’s teenage heroine, Meg, joins her brother Charles and friend Calvin in a quest to rescue her scientist father, who was sequestered by oppressive characters on another planet for refusing to pay time-travel tolls. With the help of Mrs. Whatsit and a cast of unique creatures, the young gang learns that the only way to pry Meg’s dad from the grasp of evil is with their unconditional love.
