Lord of the Dance: Dangerous Games

For nearly two decades and across 68 countries, the ensemble of traditional Irish dancers who make up Lord of the Dance has thundered across stages with kicks, taps, and twirls, all while keeping their upper torsos patently still. The latest batch of performers—James Keegan, Morgan Comer and Mathew Smith—storm the stage as fiddles pierce the Celtic drumming that heralds the forthcoming battle: one that pits the Lord of Darkness against the Lord of Dance.

While James, Morgan, and Mathew prove again and again why they’ve earned the title and all the fancy paperwork that comes with being a Lord, there’s another important Lord on stage most nights in Dangerous Games: creator Michael Flatley. The director and choreographer says farewell to the stage (though not to Lord of the Dance) in the show’s finale, which he’ll join on several nights throughout the run.
