Love Jones The Musical
Darius Lovehall is a poet. Nina Mosley is a photographer. After meeting at a bohemian nightclub, the two exchange small talk, feel a spark between them, and wind up having sex. But then neither knows what to do. Nina just got out of a relationship and isn’t really sure if it’s permanently ended, and Darius doesn’t know whether to admit that he really cares for Nina.
The original Love Jones movie was a simple story told with such realism that it earned a cult following. For this musical-theatre adaptation, the director of the original, Theodore Witcher, joined with MC Lyte to bring the romance to the stage, complementing the classic tale with original songs that honor the film’s original soul-heavy soundtrack.
