Getting out of the house is often hampered by the fact that most houses are located inside a bigger and fancier house. Step outside of the house outside of your house with today's Groupon for admission to the Manitoba Goddess Festival on September 2–5 at the corner of Bubbling Well Road and Victor Street, just outside of Matlock. Groupons will serve as passes to the festival. Choose from the following options:
• For $12, you get admission to the Sunday-night extravaganza (a $25 value, including GST and PST).
• For $25, you get admission to a full day of events on either Saturday or Sunday (a $50 value, including GST and PST).
• For $45, you get admission to all four days of the festival (a $90 value, including GST and PST).
The Manitoba Goddess Festival teams social and educational activities with opportunities for spiritual awakening in an arts-and-culture festival that celebrates goddesses from past and present. In addition to letting guests get up close and personal with Mother Nature, this year's fest revolves around Isis, the Egyptian goddess of life, love, and motherhood. On Friday night, fest-goers will activate the spirit of Isis with a shamanic astrologer and welcome her arrival with a group ecstatic dance. Saturday begins with a qigong meditation and a reading of magical poems, and visitors can take part in workshops throughout the day, such as Sacred Circle Dances of the Goddesses and A Plant Partnership, which explores the spiritual properties of the broccoflower. A Saturday-night sweat lodge will purify bodies and minds in preparation for Sunday's lineup of belly dancing, fire dancing, and dance partying.
The fest culminates in a Sunday-night performance starring the tribal belly dancers of GaiaPente and WildFire's fusion of dance, drumming, and fire-safety videos. Throughout the event, participants can relax at the goddess spa and healer's tent.
