Matt Cohen refuses to see city limits as barriers that shut out the natural world. An experienced nature guide and organic gardener, Matt shares his knowledge during peaceful nature walks through parks and bucolic suburban woods. Over the course of each tour, he opens your eyes to the bounty of plants and wildlife that exists all around us. Matt also points out edible plants and mushrooms, teaching you how to identify safe-to-eat comestibles. With this newfound knowledge, you'll get to partake of nature's self-replenishing buffet throughout the year.

The natural world has always called to Matt Cohen. That's why he left a successful career in computer programming to spend more time in the world outside the office windows. After apprenticing in an organic market garden, Matt moved to DC to work on community-garden initiatives. Today, he runs Matt's Habitats, helping people create beautiful gardens that produce edible native plants. When not doing this, Matt can often be found tending the fruit and vegetable garden in his own backyard, which now encompasses a pond, a meadow, and a woodland patch.
