Mike Super: Magic and Illusion
If Mike Super feels any kind of pressure while performing, he doesn't show it. With equal parts mirth and mysticism, the illusionist astounded a nationwide audience on NBC's Phenomenon, correctly predicting the serial number of a random dollar bill and divining the results of an audience-driven murder mystery. Mike would go on to win the competition, along with the 2011 Entertainer of the Year award from the International Magicians Society. Bringing his uncanny abilities to the stage, Mike makes use of video projection, dramatic lighting, and music to distract audience members long enough to levitate a dove into each of their pockets.
Count Basie Theatre
Upon entering the Count Basie Theatre, guests may feel as though they’ve slipped through a crack in time and ended up in the early 1900s. Opulent marble staircases and gold details grab the eyes of visitors, recalling the decadence of Hollywood’s history and gently pulling them to the auditorium. There, the acoustically pleasing construction wins out as sound spreads and funnels through a sunburst dome embellished with a dangling chandelier. Since opening in 1926, the Count Basie has earned numerous accolades, including a nod from Pollstar magazine, which listed it as one of the Top 100 Worldwide Theatre Venues.
