The Scouting Report
After a bit of a slow start, the Brewers found their groove this past weekend, notching their first win against the Pirates in a 6–0 shutout on Saturday. On Monday, the Brew Crew continued their winning ways, spoiling the Cardinals home opener thanks in large part to Carlos Gomez’s two hits and RBI. The team’s energetic center fielder has some power joining him this season, especially in newcomer Adam Lind, who, in the team’s first seven games, reached base safely without ever having to consult a map and compass. Later this month, Gomez, Lind, and the rest of the club will defend Miller Park against the division-rival Reds, and about a month later, they’ll take on the defending-champion Giants.

About Milwaukee Brewers
Originally founded as the Seattle Pilots in 1969, the Milwaukee Brewers have brought Major League Baseball to Wisconsin since 1970. The team played its first 30 seasons at Milwaukee County Stadium; Miller Park opened its gates in 2001, featuring field dimensions mapped out by legendary Brewer Robin Yount. Today, up to 41,900 fans pack into Miller Park to cheer on their home team as well as The Famous Racing Sausages and Bernie the Brewer, who soars down his iconic slide to celebrate home runs or cheer himself up after burning popcorn inside his elevated left-field clubhouse.
