Mitsubishi Electric Classic
A field of 81 top golfers from the PGA TOUR Champions vie for a $1.8 million prize purse during the 54-hole Mitsubishi Electric Classic at TPC Sugarloaf. The three-day tournament punctuates a whole week of birdie-hunting pomp, including the Novelis Celebrity Challenge on Saturday and the State Bank Pro-Am on Wednesday and Thursday, during which PGA TOUR Champions stars join amateur foursomes in a five-player best ball format.
The Mitsubishi Electric Classic tees off Friday morning and concludes Sunday, when a champion will be crowned. After winning last year’s title, Olin Browne will return to defend his throne. The star-studded field will also feature 2013 winner Bernhard Langer—who succumbed to Browne’s one-shot lead in 2015—and 2014 champion Miguel Angel Jimenez.
