The Sound: If jazz and funk had an electro-pop baby that never stopped dancing
The Band: Horn players Mike Wilbur and Wenzl McGowen and drummer James Muschler, whose eclectic sound has earned them gigs with They Might Be Giants and Beats Antique and an appearance on NPR Music’s Tiny Desk Concert (NPR called it one of the best concerts in the series’ history)
The Show: Electrifying and one-of-a-kind, just like the busking shows in the NYC subway that marked the beginning of the fledgling band’s journey. It may include found objects such as traffic cones as well as tracks from their latest album, 2016’s Red Sky.
