What You’ll Do

Death isn’t necessarily without beauty. At the Morbid Anatomy Museum, the two wind together in exhibits of mouse taxidermy, Victorian mourning jewelry, spirit photography, and other somber subject matter. But there to keep everything in context is Evan Michelson—one of the museum’s founding board members, a scholar-in-residence, and co-host of the Science Channel’s Oddities.

  • Behind-the-Scenes Museum Tour
Evan takes guests on a roughly 90-minute insider’s tour of the museum’s library and artifacts, exploring everything from death masks to hair art.

  • Free-Form Exploration
Time will be allotted for guests to explore the museum, including the current visiting exhibit, on their own.

  • Sip Wine and Learn
Grab a glass of wine after the tour and sit in on a lecture or attend the special event of the evening.

Your Host

Evan Michelson Evan Michelson
Owner of Obscura and Host of Science Channel’s Oddities

Evan Michelson has always seen the world differently. She once told the New York Times that as a kid, she was “totally obsessed” with “photographs of the catacombs of Palermo and other macabre souvenirs.” She grew up to work as a New York musician and performance artist, but then discovered the world of antiques—a world that led to her open Obscura, a shop that can be seen alongside Evan in the Science Channel’s Oddities.
