What You'll Get
A good belly laugh exercises the abdomen, improves a cloudy mood, and comforts homesick reindeer with familiar, Santaesque sounds. Ease a four-legged friend’s melancholy with today’s deal: for $15, you get two general-admission tickets to a comedy show at Morty’s Comedy Joint (up to a $30 value).
After years of rounding up professional comedians from across the country to solicit laughs in its classy comedy club, Morty’s Comedy Joint unleashes the jokesters during a variety of uproariously funny shows. Veteran standup authoritarian Eddie Brill (December 9–10) gouges laughs and schools tadpole comics with seasoned chops that have made him the talent coordinator on Late Night with David Letterman and humor consultant for Reader’s Digest. On December 15–17, funnyman Dan St. Paul engages audiences with relatable anecdotes about fatherhood, baseball, and dollar-cost-averaging stock purchases, and political satirist Tim Slagle (December 22–23) prods the proletariat with a gut-busting act.
Although not included in today’s Groupon, guests can silence slow-clapping tummy grumbles with Morty’s bar-style menu and lubricate chuckle tubes with drinks that include microbrews ($4.75/bottle), merlot ($5.50/glass), and tropical 23-ounce frozen concoctions ($10.50–$11.25). Morty’s Comedy Joint recommends that guests show up 30 minutes before showtime.
