Mrs. Smith Live!
Mrs. Smith has been searching for her beloved cat, Carlyle, for three-and-a-half years. To get over her missing pet, she’s tried a variety of things: psychoanalysis, New Age therapies, auditioning for America’s Got Talent. And she’s eager to share all of these colorful experiences with the audience. But this isn’t an eccentric aunt who’s stumbled onto a cabaret stage—it’s a bouffant-wearing, pearl-donning character created by actor David Hanbury. As his alter-ego, Hanbury tells listeners wild stories in between strapping on an electric guitar and shredding classic showtunes and pop songs alongside the Broadway Boys, a duo of tuxedoed gents played by Martino Mayotte and Reid Harmsen. The result: “a show-stopping performance” that is “genuinely breathtaking,” according to WCCO and MinnPost.<p>
