Mud Creek Players: Night Watch
Despite her husband's attempts to calm her, Elaine Wheeler paces the living room of her Manhattan townhouse, deeply unsettled and afraid—and then she sees the corpse in the window across the way. But when the police arrive, there's nothing there but an empty chair and an audience full of people who know how thrillers work. The second body that appears doesn't warrant a second visit from law enforcement, and Elaine's husband calls a psychiatrist instead. As Elaine wrestles with the question of her own sanity, the mystery ensnares not only her, but an inquisitive neighbor, a nosy maid, and old friend in for a visit, and the household tumbles toward a menacing conclusion. Lucille Fletcher's gripping play was hailed by the New York Times as "...a most superior thriller…which from its first blood-curdling scream to its last charming surprise is a first-class example of its genre."
Mud Creek Players
There's nothing stuffy about theater when it's performed in a barn, and that's part of the Mud Creek Players' charm. As Indianapolis's longest running community theater, the company has filled their stage—known simply as "The Barn"—with classic works, modern comedies, musicals, and dramas for over 60 years. And that commitment to enriching local culture continues when the curtain falls and the spotlights go to sleep—the group schedules singing and acting camps for budding thespians, and frequently hosts social events such as dinners, game nights, and holiday parties.
