Food trucks deliver meals on wheels, like a roller-skating server at a drive-in or a paperboy with a potato gun. Drive off hunger with this GrouponLive deal to the First Friday Food Truck Festival in the Old National Centre parking lot. For $10, you get four general-admission tickets for Friday, June 1, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. (up to a $32 value, including all fees).

The First Friday Food Truck Festival rolls into the summer season atop the wheels of more than 30 munch-mobiles, which converge on Old National Centre's parking lot for four hours of food, fun, and getting funky. Truck-slung cuisine currently includes the po' boys and pudding of Chef Dan's Southern Comfort, the exotic, locally made shell-stuffers of Tacos Without Borders, and, from Scout's Treat Truck, Lisa Moyer's scrumptious cupcakes made with a family recipe her great-great-great-aunt concocted in 1898 to pay homage to Teddy Roosevelt's mustache. Dip some of Groovy Guys Fries sweet potato or natural-cut starch sticks into specialty sauces, or take the A.V. Club’s word that Mac Genie is “not your mama’s mac and cheese … [it’s] gourmet without being shi-shi.” The list of participating trucks is continually updated, and more may join ranks before the event begins.

While bouncing between little bites of heaven, revelers try their hand at cornhole and sip brews from Leinenkugel or wine from Oliver Winery. Punk marching band Mucca Pazza beams with school spirit as it turns heads with its energetic, off-kilter style of musical performance, O'Death belts out a fusion of folk, Americana, and punk, and feel-good dance jams spin from the decks of DJ OhBeOne.

Old National Centre

Old National Centre was originally built in 1909 as the Murat Shrine, which housed Indianapolis’s growing population of Freemasons. The building has since been restored and has become an eye-catching display of diverse architectural influences. Outside of the venue, spindly towers topped with light-blue domes rise above the street, beckoning passersby to enter the theater and enjoy a show. The classic, opulent Grand Lobby opens up to a wealth of concert venues, exhibition halls, and ballrooms that astound visitors with Middle Eastern and Victorian designs.
