MAD

At the Museum of Arts and Design, visitors discover new forms of artistic expression and encounter artists challenging traditional thinking about history, society, culture, and art itself. Advocating for the value of the handmade, MAD aims to open minds, stimulate conversation, and foster creativity.


Permanent Exhibit

In addition to its four floors of exhibitions, MAD offers:

  • MAD’s Artist Studios, where visitors can ask questions, view works in progress, and gain firsthand exposure to the creative process of resident artists and designers working on site at the museum.
  • The Store at MAD with a museum-inspired selection of housewares, accessories, jewelry, and more accenting the interplay of art, craft, and design.
  • Robert at MAD a classic modern restaurant offering breathtaking views of Central Park and Columbus Circle. Open for lunch, brunch, and dinner.

  • Groupon tickets are valid for Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, or Saturday admissions
  • Free admission for kids under 18 with a paying adult
  • Visitors with General Admission tickets may enter the Museum any time between 10 am and 6 pm. General Admission tickets do not include entry to Taylor Swift: Storyteller
  • Face coverings are strongly recommended for visitors over the age of two

  • Admission Hours: Ticket holders may enter the Museum anytime during open hours. The Museum is open from 10 AM – 6 PM on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Thursday hours are from 12 PM – 8 PM. MAD is closed on Mondays. -- The Museum is open for abbreviated hours (10 AM – 3 PM) on the day after Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve.
  • Additional Open Days: The Museum is also open on New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and Presidents’ Day.
  • Free Admission for Kids: Children under 12 get in free with a paying adult.
