Cover bands look and sound just like the real thing, unlike cover audiences, who are just used mannequins holding up lighters. See the real almost-real thing with this GrouponLive deal to see Odyssey Road at Music Farm. For $12, you get two general-admission tickets on Friday, August 31, at 8 p.m. (up to a $24.44 value, including all fees). Doors open at 7:30 p.m.
Odyssey Road doesn’t go in for costumes. Instead, they turn all their energy toward recreating the aural experience of a Journey concert with precisely detailed covers of the legendary band's hit songs. The quintet draws on a catalog of classic Journey anthems such as "Don’t Stop Believin'" and "Wheel in the Sky," while dipping into the early catalog for less well-known numbers such as "Feeling That Way." The band plays each song in its original key, letting lead singer and founding member James "Bubba" Sanderford show off his six-octave vocal range while connecting with audiences of all ages. Each of Sanderford's compatriots contribute vocals on top of their instrumental responsibilities, filling out songs with lush, multipart harmonies and letting the band form a barbershop quartet to fill in for itself when one member is sick.
