My Big Gay Italian Midlife Crisis
Picking up where the off-Broadway hit musical My Big Gay Italian Funeral left off—itself a sequel to My Big Gay Italian Wedding—My Big Gay Italian Midlife Crisis looks at the surprising turns one’s big gay Italian life can take when you reach a certain age. In this latest iteration of the soap-operatic farce, Anthony is nearing his 40s, and everything should be fine. Somehow, though, it isn’t. As he struggles to find a balance between running his successful business and managing relationships, Anthony encounters some familiar faces, not to mention a new pack of outspoken loonies. With three Daytime Emmy Awards for his behind-the-scenes work on soap opera One Life to Life, Anthony J. Wilkinson once again returns to his My Big Gay saga, milking his dramatic expertise for maximum laughs.
The Theater Center
Although The Theater Center is one of the more frequented hotspots in the Off-Broadway scene, it's surprisingly intimate. As the home of the world's longest running musical (The Fantasticks) and New York's longest running play (Perfect Crime), most visitors would expect a coliseum experience that requires extra-strength opera glasses. But thanks to The Theater Center's two 200-seat auditoriums, audiences get to savor some of the theater world's biggest treats without squinting.
