Negev Gala featuring Jason Alexander

As the Jewish National Fund of Canada’s biggest annual fundraising event, the Negev Gala has commemorated the humanitarian works of leaders within the Winnipeg community since 1953. At this year’s gala, all proceeds will benefit research and environmental development projects for the citizens and visitors of the State of Israel. The Jewish national Fund will also give honours to the Arab Jewish Dialogue, an organization that strives for positive conflict resolution between the Arab and Jewish citizens of Canada.<p>

Adding levity to the heartfelt event, this year’s headlining speaker is four-time Emmy Winning actor, comedian, writer, humanitarian, and ace poker player Jason Alexander. For nine seasons on Seinfeld, Alexander crafted one of TV’s greatest misanthropes with the character of George Costanza. Since then, he’s gained a Tony Award for his appearance in Jerome Robbins’ Broadway, tickled audiences in The Producers beside Canadian hero Martin Short, and used his poker-face talents to benefit New Orleans charities. The causes of the Jewish National Fund and the Arab Jewish Dialogue are very dear to the famed actor. Jason has visited Israel many times to support the progression of peace, currently serves as the representative and spokesman for the grassroots organization One Voice, and showcases a commitment to harmony in the Middle East that rivals George Costanza’s passion for Bosco Chocolate Syrup. In his mirthful standup performance, Alexander leaves audiences in stiches while raising public awareness of the Jewish National Fund’s work in Israel.
