The Little Foxes
It’s the year 1900 in Alabama, and Regina Hubbard Giddens has to rely on her husband for financial stability rather than bask in the wealth and freedom her brothers have. Her brothers aren’t completely happy, either, and hatch a plan to gain control of the family business in order to make even more money. Soon, greed takes several illegal turns and Regina is at the center of it all. The play takes its cues from the real life of playwright Lillian Hellman, who used the rivalry of her parents’ families to craft her famous work.
New Century Theatre
Thanks to New Century Theatre, you don't have to go to New York City or locate a convenient spatial wrinkle to see Broadway-worthy drama. That's because the Massachusetts-based company fills its seasons with a wealth of critically acclaimed works, local premieres, and new plays. Since its founding in 1991, New Century has made its mission to stage high-caliber productions—including Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and The Glass Menagerie—while simultaneously serving as a training ground for area actors and directors.
