New Leaf First Coast Music Festival Lineup

  • Grandpa’s Cough Medicine: This atypical outlaw bluegrass trio eschews gospel themes, front-porch grinnin’, and lengthy on-stage discussions about the weather for macabre lyricism and Pantera-style aggression; their album Jailbird Blues was named one of the Top Ten Local Albums of 2011 by The Florida Times-Union.
  • World Gone: Taking inspiration form Slipknot, Fear Factory, and Sepultura, this distinctly non-conformist band—fronted by former Cold guitarist Joe Bennett—might be the only to describe its sound as “Revolutionary Apocalyptic Zombie Swamp Metal.”
  • Palm Trees & Power Lines: Four plucky pop-punkers get fans pogo-jumping with fast, catchy tunes in the vein of blink-182 and Fall Out Boy; they recently recorded with producer Paul Lapinski, who kick-started Red Jumpsuit Appartus’s career.
  • Fusebox Funk: Elliot Townsend of URB Magazine says this frenetic fivesome “are not constrained by genre or style. They straddle genre boundaries and produce a style all their own, from hip-hop to rock, funk to R&B . . . that teeters between a crazy breakdown and a relaxing groove.”
  • Lucky Costello: With a head-trippy live show that melds psychedelic grooves and visuals with electronica, jazz, and blues, this Jacksonville Beach quartet improvises hypnotizing soundscapes.
