Before founding the Boston Comedy Festival more than a decade ago, Jim McCue had been honing his skills on the road—something he hasn’t tired of to this day. The veteran of the standup circuit has performed on Comedy Central and NBC’s Last Comic Standing, slung jokes at more than 100 U.S. military bases around the world, and authored Embedded Comedian, which McCue calls a “field manual for comedians in a war zone.” He makes each of these performances unique through drum-tight timing, audience interplay, and fearless improv.
