The Scouting Report
The Cosmos’ 2015 championship run began with an undefeated spring season, which the team eventually rode to a first-place tie (with the Fury, no less) atop the NASL standings. This spring could unfold in similar fashion, especially considering New York’s star-studded roster. Instead of spending the entire winter trying to bring the NASL Soccer Bowl Trophy to life, the team stocked up on talent, highlighted by the addition of Bolivian international Yasmani Duk. The 27-year-old striker will add a new dynamic to the Cosmos offense, which netted 49 goals last season—tied for second-most in the league.
The Cosmos play their home games at James M. Shuart Stadium on the campus of Hofstra University in Hempstead, NY.

About New York Cosmos
On June 17, 1985—after winning five North American League Soccer championships bringing some of soccer's biggest names to the United States—the New York Cosmos played their last game in front of more than 8,500 fans at Giants Stadium. Nearly three decades of silence followed. But in 2013, the club was revived, much to the delight of the city's fans and growing number of cobweb-covered soccer balls. That year, the Cosmos returned to the pitch and promptly re-established themselves as one of the NASL's elite teams, capturing their sixth Soccer Bowl with a 1-0 victory over the Atlanta Silverbacks.
