New York’s College Classic
On September 27, two historic football programs clash at MetLife Stadium in the first of two scheduled neutral-site showdowns between Notre Dame and Syracuse. The Fighting Irish arrive with a score to settle, as their last game against the Orange ended in a 24-23 upset on home turf in 2008. The teams are 3-3 against one another all-time, meaning the winner of this game gets bragging rights until their next match-up in 2016, assuming that all footballs don’t have a change of heart and turn into soccer balls before then.
Home to the NFL’s New York teams, MetLife Stadium brings the game to life with grandeur unlike anything on either college’s home turf. In the corners of the arena, four 30’x118’ high-definition video screens broadcast hard hits and long completions at titanic size, and more than 2,100 high-definition monitors relay the on-field action throughout the stadium, ensuring fans won’t miss a moment of action while grabbing concessions or asking a mascot for fashion tips.
