One Man, Two Guvnors
Francis loses his job and has to take care of Roscoe, a crook. But Roscoe is really Rachel, Roscoe’s sister, since the real Roscoe is dead. Then Francis sees a chance to get a job with Stanley, who killed Roscoe, and is also Rachel’s boyfriend, and is also on the run from the police. So Francis has to keep them apart. Got that? Based on the Italian comedy The Servant of Two Masters, Richard Bean’s madcap farce includes song, dance, food, sex, money, and—you guessed it—not one but two “guvnors,” which are sort of like governors.
