What You'll Get
Watching a movie gives audiences a chance to capture that moment’s resonant je ne sais quoi, which is French for “popcorn smell.” Rejoice in artful concessions with today’s deal to the Palo Alto International Film Festival, held at venues throughout Palo Alto from September 29–October 2. Choose from the following options:
- For $12, you get two screening tickets (a $24 value).
- For $55, you get a film festival pass that includes official festival credentials and access to all regular film screenings (a $115 value). The film-festival pass does not include admission to the speaker series or the Digital Native Youth Program.
- For $27, you get a one-year membership (a $55 value) that includes discounts on festival passes or tickets and exclusive access to upcoming events. This option does not include tickets or passes.<p>
The Palo Alto International Film Festival’s inaugural silver-screen showcase explores the intersection of cinematic art and technology with 30 feature films and 74 shorts from around the world. Techno-centric movements such as Romanian New Wave feature prominently in a schedule of screenings selected for their capacity to provoke discussion and fuel collaboration. Cinemaphiles choose a film and step into the red carpet’s express lane with two screening tickets that grant an exciting movie outing without shouting fire warnings in a theater full of scarecrows.
Festival passes eliminate the need for tough decision-making by granting access to up to 20 feature films and 25 short films. Explore the Chauvet-Pont-d’Arc cave with guide Werner Herzog in Cave of Forgotten Dreams or celebrate YouTube’s fifth birthday with the user-generated opus Life in a Day. Eyes widen at the true-crime intrigue of Road to Nowhere, director Monte Hellman’s first feature film in two decades. Venues such as the cozy two-screen Aquarius Theater nod to the traditions of the past, and the ultramodern interior of the Computer History Museum and the amenities of the Garden Court Hotel surround patrons with futuristic luxury like a hug from Inspector Gadget. Though memberships do not grant access to the festival, members receive a 20% discount on tickets and invitations to members-only screenings and events throughout the year.
Though ticketing fees apply to passes and tickets purchased through the Palo Alto International Film Festival website, voucher holders receive a waiver of these charges.
