Music is a force powerful enough to calm a baby, soothe a wild beast, or compel the two to dance with each other. Be overcome by this GrouponLive deal to see a concert at Park City Live. Choose between the following options:
- For $9, you get one general-admission ticket to see EOTO on Wednesday, March 13, at 8 p.m. (up to a $19.96 value, including all fees). Doors open at 7 p.m.

Electronic-music fans may be surprised to see two soft-spoken men shredding on guitars, crafting looping melodies on a keyboard, and creating frenetic rhythms on a sprawling drum set. This unconventional duo is EOTO, a band lauded for an eclectic sound shared during fully improvised sets. Instead of using prerecorded tracks, Michael Travis and Jason Hann devise songs live using gear that includes mixing boards, iPads, and a cartwheeling looping machine. The result is a dynamic, trance-like melding of vocals and beats. EOTO’s visuals are just as striking: sonic murals unfold inside a set shaped like a gargantuan lotus flower, while futuristic images such as alien life-forms and looming spacecraft glide across an illuminated backdrop.

Finnish DJ and producer Ville Virtanen’s alter ego, Darude, knows how to make a crowd move. Since the release of his platinum hit “Sandstorm” in 1999, he’s headlined spirited tours that take him around the globe. Singles such as “Feel the Beat,” “Music,” and “Next To You” further catapulted the mixmaster into the club-music stratosphere thanks to his feverish blend of progressive trance, tech, house, and heavy-metal samples. When he’s not inspiring dance parties, Darude can be found creating music for video games and movie soundtracks.

Underneath Park City Live’s shimmering laser light system, a slew of musical acts shine. The energetic venue is equally at home pulsating with dance music or hosting a stripped-down acoustic show, beckoning a diverse crowd of music aficionados to its dynamic confines. But the venue didn't begin life as a haven for audiophiles and their ears. The historic Summit County War Veterans Memorial Building, completed in 1940 following a fire, was originally home to an American Legion room, rifle range, gymnasium, and the Boy Scouts. But by 1984, the entertainment needs of the city had changed, and the building began providing recreation of the more artistic variety. Today, the space serves as the home for Park City Live, as well as O’Shucks Bar & Grill and Rock ‘N’ Reilly’s Irish Pub.
