House of Floyd
Founder: Mark Showalter (keyboards, saxophone, and vocals), who was part of the Gregg Allman and Friends tour for two years before ditching the blues to launch this Pink Floyd tribute.
The band’s approach: Forget simply regurgitating Pink Floyd’s recorded tracks—replete with talented musicians, House of Floyd pours its energy into adventurous live arrangements.
Eras covered: Everything from the early Syd Barrett days to the band’s final years sans Roger Waters or the band’s alien mascot, Pinky.
What to expect: Each show is built around inventive, jam-based musical interpretations and Pink Floyd’s signature sonic experimentation, but visual effects, special lighting, lasers and fog help truly punctuate House of Floyd’s hypnotically accurate act.
