Now in its 50th season, the Pittsburgh Chamber Music Society celebrates a half-century of fostering the arts across the local landscape with breathtaking displays of musical talent and artistic insight. For one night, the Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson Trio steps away from its position as the Chamber Ensemble in Residence at the Kennedy Center to vibrate and invigorate the eardrums of Carnegie Music Hall–goers. The auditory experience begins with Mozart’s Piano Trio in B-flat major, followed by contemporary composer Stanley Silverman’s Trio no. 2, Reveille The evening’s musical denouement comes with Beethoven’s somber and austere Piano Trio no. 7 in B-flat major, Archduke, right before the ensemble smashes their instruments. Guests take their seats inside the grandiose Carnegie Music Hall, a space lauded for its superb acoustics for chamber music and for being a challenging venue for games of Marco Polo.
