It’s just another day in the small town of Pontypool. Ex-Big-City-radio-DJ Grant Mazzy mans the early-morning broadcast from the church’s basement: bus cancelations followed by snowstorm updates followed by more bus cancelations. But then something different happens. People start calling in to report other people talking in weird ways—and carrying out horrendous violence. Soon Grant finds himself trapped in the station with the rest of the radio staff, hiding from what they learn to be effects of a virus that’s spread through the English language itself. So do they keep broadcasting in hopes of being rescued? Or will that only contribute to the problem?
