What You'll Get

The Deal

  • $20 for one general-admission ticket and one drink (up to $41.50 value)

Portland Chamber Music Festival: The Russian Soul

  • The Theme: Two Russian masterpieces separated in origin by 50 years demonstrate not only the range of the country’s composers, but also the talents of these chamber artists.
  • Notable Players: Diane Walsh, an international talent who won the Salzburg International Mozart Competition, takes center stage in Shostakovich’s Piano Quintet along with top chamber musicians from around the county.
  • Program Highlight: Tchaikovsky’s String Sextet, Souvenir de Florence, which carries as much of the sunny spirit of Italy as it does the harsh wintery strains of Russia. Apparently, while on vacation in Florence, the composer decided he didn’t much care for the city and longed for his native Moscow.
