The Rat Pack is Back
It’s a summery night in a Vegas showroom, circa 1960. The energy is crackling and warm. The crowd is ready to laugh and dressed to the nines, since it’s still a federal offense to go out looking like a schlub. Cigarettes are considered a food group, and even the air knows how to hold its booze. Then, they swagger into the spotlight: Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., and Joey Bishop. It’s time to put on a show.
For 14 years, throughout more than 5,000 performances across the globe, the cast of “The Rat Pack is Back” has captured the razzle-dazzle, martini-swilling essence of the Rat Pack in a swinging revue. Packed with creaseless crooning, soft-shoeing, and unapologetic cornball humor, each performance ropes the audience into one of entertainment’s most famous in-crowds. Sinatra surrogate Brian Duprey belts out standards such as “You Make Me Feel So Young,” Dean Martin doppelganger Drew Anthony puts his spin on “That’s Amore,” Kenny Jones takes on Sammy Davis, Jr., and Mickey Joseph dispenses rim-shot punch lines as wise guy Joey Bishop. Backed by a 12-piece big-band orchestra, The Rat Pack Show aims to be the closest audiences can get to ’60s Vegas magic without eating a copy of the original Ocean’s Eleven.
