What You’ll Do

A blank piece of cotton is a canvas ripe for creative expression. With the guidance of Divine NY & Co’s founder and creative director Rekha Krishnamurthi, you’ll learn how to transform a blank scarf into a colorful accessory using fiber-reactive dyes and fixers. You’ll leave with your scarf and instructions detailing how to craft another masterpiece at home.

  • Dye Your Own Scarf
    After receiving a blank 15”x60” cotton scarf, you’ll learn an easy technique to color fabric using fiber-reactive dyes, soda ash fixer (to set the color), and urea (an organic compound used in the dyeing process).

  • Dry and Wear
    Once your custom scarf is set and dry, wear it around your neck to add flair to a simple outfit, or tie it around a tote bag for a stylish statement.
