The Scouting Report
With A10 conference play underway, the Billikens are playing high-scoring ball. By their second conference match-up they had already surpassed the 70-point mark in six games, matching their total from the entire previous season. Much of this productivity is owed to sophomore center Sadie Stipanovich as opposed to a basketball-lobbing machine from the engineering school. In a January 7 win over Massachusetts, she posted a team-high 17 points and 11 rebounds to lock up a third-consecutive double-double.
Saint Louis Billikens
The city of Saint Louis may be known as the Gateway to the West, but for many of the nation’s premier soccer players, it’s the final destination. That’s because, with 10 NCAA Division I championships to their name, the Saint Louis Billikens have built a soccer tradition more lasting than a pair of cleats left to dry in wet cement. While men’s soccer may be the Billikens’ flagship program, they are a formidable force across a variety of sports, including men’s basketball, a program that has made it to the NCAA Tournament nine times.
