Catchy country songs often have a rollicking guitar riff, a sing-along chorus, and subliminal messages about getting out of your small town. Get hooked with this GrouponLive deal to the ZiegenBock Music Festival at Sam Houston Race Park. For $15, you get one ticket for general admission on Saturday, October 6, at noon (up to a $21 value, including all fees).

The ZiegenBock Music Festival celebrates its 10-year anniversary with an all-day party that invites more than 25 acts to perform on three stages set up in the grass at Sam Houston Race Park. Among the headlining acts is Ryan Bingham, whose signature gravelly voice scuffs up songs about love, loss, and outlaws. A former pro on the rodeo circuit, Bingham broke big when he and his music appeared in the Oscar-winning Jeff Bridges vehicle Crazy Heart. Also taking the stage, Hayes Carll touts his latest album, KMAG YOYO, which inspired Paste Magazine to hail him as a “Texas troubadour” who “delivers songs that are simply grand.” The album—its title taken from a military acronym—opens with the crowd-moving “Stomp and Holler,” then meanders toward balladry with “Chances Are,” a song tinged with heartache and regret, much like the face of a cool uncle who just let his 4-year-old niece borrow his car.

Jason Boland & The Stragglers rally behind socially conscious songs reminiscent of populist anthems by country legends Merle Haggard and Bob Childers. On his website, Boland says: “I’m not ready to give up on the idea that country music can be relevant,” a theme that carries through his latest album Rancho Alto. Other acts include David Nail, Roger Creager, and Terry Lee Goffee: The Ultimate Johnny Cash Tribute.
