The Scouting Report
In the inaugural Major League Ultimate season of 2013, the Rainmakers made a statement. With the league’s stingiest defense and third-best offense, the Rainmakers posted an 8-2 record, tying for the second-best mark in the league. Several key players from last year’s squad return for the 2014 campaign, including handler Adam Simon, whose 18 goals and 24 assists placed him in the league’s top 10 offensive forces last season. After using the franchise’s first off-season to fine-tune their playbook and study alien spacecraft for insight into frisbee aerodynamics, the Rainmakers will look to improve on their maiden campaign during the 10-game 2014 season.
As one of the founding members of Major League Ultimate, the Rainmakers flash their frisbee skills against squads from notable West Coast cities. In regular-season battles with Portland, San Francisco, and Vancouver, the Rainmakers strive to position themselves for a postseason berth. The final game will pit the best of the West with the top representative from the East Coast and the winner gets to say their ocean is the prettiest.
