Sgt. Stubby fought in 17 battles in WWI. He waded through the trenches of France. He took home the Purple Heart. And when the war was over and history had been made, Stubby reaped the rewards of being a war hero: he met the president and took in a pension of three bones a day. While that pay might be unusual, Sgt. Stubby was an unusual hero. For starters, he was a dog (played by human Matt Weinstein), and not only that, but he started out as a stray. Now, this musical inspired by the true story, tells of how Stubby rose from the kennel to take on the Kaiser with heart and charm.
